The National Association of Counties (NACo) announced this year's Achievement Award winners. This award is a noncompetitive program that recognizes counties for creative and innovative program development and implementation, efficient administrative management of county agencies and responsible government to local citizens.
The program is in its 37th year. This year's winners represent 27 states and 95 counties. Awards are given in more than 20 categories, ranging from arts and historic preservation to volunteerism. The Coastal Monitoring Network was awarded an Achievement Award in the Information Technology Category.
