Bacteria Level warning signs are posted on beaches where water sampling test results have exceeded California bactereological standards for ocean water.  Water contact may cause illness in some individuals, especially children, the elderly, and immune suppressed persons.  Avoid water contact where signs are posted.

A Bacteria Level Warning Sign posting is in effect on this beach as follows:

5/22/2013 12:59 PM - Surfrider Beach Malibu [In front of last known breech]
From the last known breech of Malibu Creek to 100 yards downcoast from the public restrooms. Post signs every 50 yards between these two points.

5/21/2013 4:54 PM - Malibu Pier Malibu Pier, Malibu [50 yds east of pier]
100 yards on both sides of the pier. Post signs at pier, 50 yards, and 100 yards on both sides of the pier.
